Brief description:Our great Acharya Srila Bhaktisidhanta Saraswati Thakur Ji Maharaj once visited J&K State and fortold that in the future a grand Sri Sri Gaur Radha Krishna Temple will be constructed here. So ISKCON Udhampur was a vision of Srila Bhaktisidhanta Prabhupada which was fulfilled by Srila Navayogendra Swami Ji Maharaj with blessings of his spiritual master Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. ISKCON Udhampur , the biggest Radha Krishna Temple of J&K, was inagaurated on auspicious occasion of Sri Balram Purnima in 2005.

Preaching Activities: Regular Distribution Program is carried out at various places in J&K mainly at Jammu Railway Station, Srinagar, Kheer Bhawani, Sudh Mahadev (both holy places, villages etc. Many officials from Air force station and Army Northern Command Head Quarter (which is based in Udhampur) visit temple regularly and also participate in various temple activities. House programmes in Udhampur and in Jammu are also conducted on regular basis. Much of the preaching is also carried out through Srila Prabhupada International Gurukul (SPIG), Govinda’s Restaurant and Gokul Gift Shop on Janamashtami, more than one lakh people visit the temple every year. All main festivals including appearance and disaapearance days of Acharayas are celebrated enthusiastically followed by spontaneous prasadam. Srila Prabhupada Geeta Marathon is also celebrated with penalty of books being distributed every year. Prabhat Pheri is carried out on all 365 days of the year which is a unique feature of ISKCON Udhampur and during every major festival akhand kirtan (24 hour kirtan) is conducted.
Moreover, free medical camps in which free medicines are distributed after medical check up are also conducted in very remote areas. These camps are conducted by devotee doctors dresses up in Dhoti Kurta followd by free presadam to each and every individual visiting the camp under the banner of Hare Krishana Food for Life Trust.

Visitor’s Timings: General Masses cordially welcomed when the darshan is opened for special purpose office remains open from 9 A.m. to 1 P.m. and 4:30 P.m. to 7:00 P.m.

Temple Close Timings: Temple remains close from 5 A.m. to 7:30 A.m. and from 1:00 P.m. to 4:30 P.m. and from 7:30 P.m. to 8:45 P.m.

Weekly program timings including sunday feast program held at temple: – Every weekend Sunday feast program is conducted in the evening for youth. Prabhupada Youth Service Udhampur (Youth Preaching Branch of the Temple) conducts seminar, Question – answer session, japa meditation and delicious prasadam on every Sunday from 5:30 P.m. to 7:00 P.m. and 7:30 P.m. to 8:15 P.m.
